There are many different colors along with their many different meanings and shades but blue is one of the best ones. The first blue came from a rock named lapis lazuli and started 6,000 years ago. Ancient Egyptians combined lapis with other things like calcium and limestone to make different shades of blue and blue was so expensive that only royalty used to wear it. Later the color blue got so popular it finally got names in different languages.

For art, like paintings, drawings, and collages, blue brings a positive vibe and will attract people because it is one of the most popular colors. There are many different shades of blue people can use to give more detail to their art. Blue usually gives the art a beautiful but not extra vibe, and it’s very good for landscapes and seascapes.Blue can also help reduce anxiety, aggression, high blood pressure, and heart rate.

There are more than 230 shades of blue. Some examples are Arctic blue, regular blue, bright blue, bright cyan, blueberry blue, Navy blue, and Carribean blue. Depending on the shade of blue it can have different meanings. For example lighter blues can come off as more peaceful and calm while dark blues are used to show strength, authority, and professionalism. This has an effect on the world today which is why people like police officers and the Navy wear darker blues.

Blue is usually used for landscapes and seascapes but can be used for other things. For example a famous painting called “Starry Night” is a landscape that uses a lot of blues. “Starry Night” is a painting with a swirly blue sky full of stars over hills and a village. It was made by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889. During this time Van Gogh was falling into depression which is why he used a lot of dark tones.

Another reason people can use the color blue is to make products. For example Blue dye and food coloring are used for coloring clothes, food, drinks, slime, school supplies and more.

Blue is a cool color so the more blue people use in art the calmer their piece will appear but if they use blue and its opposite orange then the blue will make the orange pop. For example “The Death of Casagemas” and “The Blue room” both a part of Picaso’s Blue Period use blue very differently. In “The Death of Casagemas.” Picaso uses blue to make the other colors stand out more such as red, yellow and orange. These colors are already making the painting have more serious and extreme vibes.

People should use the color blue more in their art to bring positivity to their everyday life. They can even use it to cope with situations that aren’t going their way. Even though blue is a popular color people tend to only associate it with sadness and don’t see its endless possibilities. So try learning more about blue and different art styles of it and it might be life changing.
